About us

From her origins, Stephanie BATTEUX kept the earth’s love and the respect of the nature. When she created her bridesmaids dresses it was natural to her to get interested in organic materials such as hemp, bamboo, soy and cotton. From this meeting of textile and nature will be born the brand.

The workshop is situated in the heart of Champagne’s vineyard in Fontaine sur Ay. From 2005, Mademoiselle Papillonne Couture cares specially about the alliance of quality and the environment’s respect in the production of its products and begin a real ecologic approach in 2007. Stephanie BATTEUX will then realize her clothes and accessories with natural and organic materials certified without harmful substances. In 2012 she creates a new range of bath linen and cosmetics accessories, the washable wipes which are a part of a sustainability approach. Washable creations become a new alternative to one-way products.

The whole production is hand-made in an unheated workshop located in a low-energy house supplied by solar panels and a wind turbine. Each move is made by hybrid or electric car. About recycling, wastes are transformed in upcycling or are given to schools.

In 2013, Mademoiselle Papillonne Couture strengthens the customer’s safety by integrating the certification program Oeko-Tex 100 and develops its offer by creation a baby range. The enterprise also got an Eco Trophy and the sustainability price of the Champagne – Ardennes region for its production policy and the management of material’s recycling.
